A wide area could be affected, with warnings in place for areas including Gold Coast, Brisbane, Toowoomba, Dalby, Kingaroy, Caboolture, Caloundra, Ipswich, Gatton, Cleveland, Cherbourg, Jimboomba and Kilcoy.
Stay safe and prepared
- Limit travel unless essential: Roads may become hazardous with little warning.
- Secure or bring in outdoor items to prevent damage or obstruction.
- Be ready for potential power interruptions by charging devices, keeping torches and battery powered radio accessible.
- Never walk, ride, or drive through floodwaters – even shallow water can be dangerous.
